SIEL International Investment Law Network
One of
the specific research areas, in which a great deal of interest has recently
been generated, is that of international investment law. Accordingly, the Society of International Economic Law
(SIEL) is establishing an International Investment Law Network as a sub-group
within the SIEL framework to build a network amongst academics and
academically-minded practitioners and officials interested in the field of
international investment law.
The
Network is designed to be an inclusive group open to all SIEL members.
Its purpose is to foster a specialised level
of engagement and encourage targeted SIEL events on investment.
The launch of the SIEL Investment Network will be at the
Investment Treaty Law and Arbitration: Evolution and Revolution in Substance
and Procedure conference, 19-20 February
to be held at the Sydney Law School, University of Sydney (see http://www.usyd.edu.au/news/law/457.html?eventid=4307).
In addition, it is anticipated that there will be a meeting
of the network at the SIEL 2010 Barcelona Conference in July.
